Is there not an agreement with Palos Power to be able to use the property ? If not shame on the City. Before the board goes into this big discussion they need to know the facts both sides. The long bashing of the Palos Power wasn't necessary. I grew up in this town played PYB (Palos Youth Baseball) raised my kids in this town my boys played PBO, 1 of my boys was good enough to make the travel teams and even move on from that, however my other two boys weren't good enough to make it. Did myself or my wife go and complain about it NO we understood it was a tryout and our sons may not fit into what the team needs at that present time. I'm not familiar with Palos Power but I would imagine its run similar to PBO where you have the starter league where everyone can play, then you have the next opportunity to continue to play and that is through a tryout usually is not associated with PBO. Just my quick thoughts. Need to stop with everyone gets a participation ribbon just for showing up.

I would like to see a bit more businesses here in Palos Heights...

I have had fairly regular encounters with police from just about everywhere I've lived. Probably says a lot about me, right? Well I would argue that is says equally as much about the nature of police. And if I'm being honest, it's about a 50/50 shot whether they are respectful/respectable people. But beyond that? Even if they're good people, the bottom line is that the entire profession revolves around the act of generating income for our government. Which would be perfectly fine, had they not been consistently creating laws that are unfairly designed to financially rape people. Much of which were created on an unconstitutional basis. I'm not saying anything about individual cops. Do your job. But stand back and pay attention to the laws your supporting because the word "legal" is not even related to the word "right".

So I agree with the lady who stood up during public comment about all the spending. She is absolutely right we are headed for a huge downturn in our economy and we are going to hit it like a brick wall. We are a small community. We need to be mindful of how we’re spending our money right now. I know that our family is hurting and we are all employed.
